I agree that it would not be unusual to have no overhead light in a bedroom of that era... we make the mistake now of thinking all bedrooms had a chandelier in them... why would they bother? It was for sleeping and chandeliers are tricky to light with all those candles... and expensive too! LOL! I think this room looks wonderful... and Marsh Hall is becoming one of those places I would really love to live! Keep up the great work!Daydreamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06170115485686244907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2569534596127481927.post-45074597136782171032019-01-22T04:17:41.646-08:002019-01-22T04:17:41.646-08:00You can just imagine the draughts in this house - ...You can just imagine the draughts in this house - hence the curtained door, chair up to the fire and a draught screen for behind the chair to protect your neck when you settle down with a book. I am always Amazed at the authentic architectural details you know how to include with each of your builds and how they effectively add the correct distinction to each of your mini habitations.
I LOVE the curtained doors especially appropriate for a drafty old house, and the winged chair next to the fire is exactly where I would be in this room. The curtained bed is like a room within a room and it all looks very cosy under the canopy.
Beautifully done and can't wait for Part 2! :D

elizabethelizabeth shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09042037455600427075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2569534596127481927.post-9014453984410761222018-12-28T23:47:42.659-08:002018-12-28T23:47:42.659-08:00Oh, Irene, I did laugh when I read you had gone to...Oh, Irene, I did laugh when I read you had gone to all that bother, only to find you had put it in the wrong blog!! bless you!
