Happy New Year, followers!
Progress has been slow on this project since my last post (but I'm assuming it's the same for everyone given the time of year - so much to do!).
Just one picture for you today as I thought I'd better get something up here before you forget all about me! This is The Parlour and I'm hoping to get it looking as High Victorian as I can - filled with stuff. Furniture placement has been an issue and every time I looked at it, I moved things around but hopefully I've cracked it now and with the purchase of more "stuff" I'll have more detailed pics to show you soon.
There is another reason for the delay (she said in a whispery voice!). I have a new property. Yes, you read it correctly, so that has been a bit of a distraction for me. There are no pics yet and no new blog but I can tell you that it is called The Silkweaver's House. More later.
Hello Irene,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you! I hope 2018 is the best yet! This room is looking beautiful...the wallpaper and cloth covered mantel are Victorian perfection. I cannot wait to see more...and I cannot wait to see The Silkweaver's House. Yay! another Irene adventure.
Big hug

Looks great Irene! I love the coloured skirting and cornice, rather than a white or timber stain. Looks old-world to me, and comfortable. I think any progress is good, so don’t be hard on yourself. And what is the new property???? Can’t wait to see!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a Great Pleasure to see a post up from you Irene, no matter how brief!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of 'high Victorian' for the parlor and glad to learn that you've 'cracked the code' as to how to place the furniture. I'm not only looking forward to seeing how this room will be filled but also your purchases for it AND your new property which sounds SUPER INTRIGUING- and a Great way to begin your new year! :))
Happy New Year Irene! Your Victorian parlor is looking fantastic so far! I love the fringe on the mantle-shelf... and the alcoves beside the fireplace! The wallpaper is suitably ornate.... and colorful! I really look forward to seeing all the "stuff" you will fit in!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't wait to learn more about the new property!!! (Such a tease...!)
Happy New Year to you too!!!
ReplyDeleteYou make us want to see and know more... I can't wait to see the room with the furniture. The name for your new property sounds very interesting, I hope you'll show it soon.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant, Irene, I love it when we try to refrain from buying more and yet we can't stop ourselve. I can't wait to see more...
